About us

My dad started the business making customer cabinets in Peoria, IL. Our biggest challenge was moving the company to North Liberty, IA. in 1982. Reestablishing our customer base during a recession described as the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. Navigating through that gave me a great appreciation of strong work ethics and the importance of the working relationships I have with my employees and business partners. We look forward to seeing our 3rd generation continue to grow for years to come.

I’m passionate about our 3rd generation family business. I would describe myself as an open and honest person with high standards. Driven individual who isn’t afraid to face a challenge. Managing a 75 year old business, 50 year old marriage and 40 year old home. And make note I am consistent.

I have been with Advance Millwork since June of 2014. I truly enjoy and greatly appreciate the small, family-owned business environment and culture the Glasgow family has established here over the several decades of being in business. We have a great group of people who come from interesting backgrounds and have acquired various skills and talents with years of experience. We work together daily, from the front office to the delivery, to provide quality products and services for our customers.

Adam Martens joined the Advance Millwork team as a Controller in the summer of 2023 bringing the 3rd Generation to the company with over a decade of Project management experience. I worked at Advance Millwork for several years in the early 2000’s before entering the Wireless Industry where I spent over 16 years. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, biking, going to football and baseball games.

Fun fact: I have climbed tower heights up to 2000 Feet tall!

Hello, I’ve been working at Advance Millwork of Iowa since 2008.  I love watching any kind of sports that my kids are in, especially basketball and baseball. I have a wonderful wife that I have been married to for 18 years.

Hi! My name is Tracy.
I just celebrated 40 years of employment here at Advance Millwork! I enjoy spending time at the lake. When not at the lake, spending time with family especially my precious grandchildren!

Hi I’m Amy, I’ve worked at Advance Millwork since April 2021.
I really enjoy working here as Susan & Gordon have built a wonderful family business.The average tenure is 9.2 years which says a lot about our company. My hometown is Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I currently live in Williamsburg, Iowa with my husband John & our 3 cats Pixie, Johnny & Boots.

I’ve worked at Advance Millwork for 15 years. I currently live in Solon and have been married to Scott for 31 years.
We have a son Joshua, who is 27 years old. I enjoy watching and attending Cubs and Hawkeye games.

Hi, my name is Alisha, aka Lish. I have been working at Advance Millwork Of Iowa since 2016. I enjoy my job; every day is a new adventure, and you never know what is going to happen. I have a beautiful daughter and she is my whole world.

I joined Advance Millwork in Dec of 2002 while attending University of Iowa. I’ve had many roles within the company from door painter to assembler. I have been in sales since 2008 and really enjoy working with our customers. The atmosphere of our family owned business is one of a kind. Every day is something new. In the summers you will find me at a campground with my Family and Friends. GO HAWKS!

Hi, I’m Chris Spore, I’ve been with Advance Millwork since 2015. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Hello I’m Dan,
I have been in sales all my life and joined the Advance Millwork team in February of 2014. I’m here to help with all your needs whether it be a remodel, new home or commercial building. When I’m not working I enjoy coaching my kids baseball and softball teams. Spending time with my wife and enjoying everything there is to do around the North Liberty area.
